About Kevin

New Generation.
Real Results.

I'm not a 20-year veteran with a Rolodex. I'm a South Shore local who entered real estate with a chip on my shoulder and a different playbook — one built on data, digital strategy, and a relentless work ethic that most agents twice my age can't keep up with.

In three years, I've sold over $1.5 million in homes across the South Shore by doing things differently. I use AI-powered market analysis to price smarter. I leverage social media to market listings to exactly the right buyers. And I treat every client like they're my only client — because in that moment, they are.

What most agents can't offer: I work as a paralegal in real estate law. Every single week I work through hundreds of complex real estate legal problems — title issues, contract disputes, estate sales, distressed properties, permitting complications — the full spectrum of what can go wrong in a transaction. That experience is embedded in everything I do for my clients. I see the legal landmines before they become your problem, and I know how to navigate them.

The South Shore is my home turf. I know these towns, these streets, and these communities on a personal level. When you work with me, you get someone who's hungry, honest, using every modern tool available — and who understands real estate law at a level most agents simply don't.

Who I Work With

Every Type of Buyer.
One Trusted Expert.

Every client comes to the table differently. Here's how I tailor my approach to your situation.

Buying Your First Home on the South Shore

The South Shore is one of the best places in Massachusetts to plant roots — great schools, coastal living, and real community. But navigating your first purchase in this competitive market takes more than luck. It takes a guide who knows every angle.

I walk first-time buyers through every step with zero jargon and total transparency. From figuring out what you can actually afford, to getting pre-approved, to competing in a multiple-offer situation without overpaying — I've seen it all and I'll make sure you're ready.

Massachusetts also has several first-time buyer programs that can put money back in your pocket. I'll help you identify exactly which programs you qualify for and how to use them strategically.

1

Get Financially Ready

We'll review your budget, connect you with trusted local lenders, and explore MA first-time buyer programs like MassHousing and the ONE Mortgage Program.

2

Define Your Search

We'll narrow down towns based on commute, schools, lifestyle, and budget — then set up smart alerts so you see the right homes first.

3

Compete & Win

I'll craft an offer strategy tailored to the seller's situation — not just the highest number, but the strongest overall package.

4

Close with Confidence

I stay with you through inspections, attorney review, and closing day — handling every detail so nothing falls through the cracks.

Investment Properties on the South Shore

The South Shore real estate market offers some of the strongest investment fundamentals in Greater Boston. Limited inventory, high demand, strong rental markets, and consistent appreciation across a dozen distinct towns make this one of the smartest places to build a portfolio.

I specialize in helping investors identify multi-family properties, vacation rental opportunities, and undervalued assets across the South Shore. I bring market data, neighborhood-level insight, and a network of off-market opportunities you won't find on Zillow.

Whether you're buying your first investment property or your twentieth, I'll help you underwrite deals, analyze cap rates, and build a long-term strategy around your goals.

1

Define Your Investment Strategy

Long-term rental, short-term vacation rental, fix-and-flip, or buy-and-hold appreciation? We'll get clear on your goals before we search.

2

Access On & Off-Market Deals

My network gives you access to opportunities before they hit the MLS — a critical edge in a low-inventory market like the South Shore.

3

Run the Numbers Together

I'll help you analyze every deal — cash flow, cap rate, projected appreciation, carrying costs — so you buy with eyes wide open.

4

Scale Your Portfolio

Once you close your first deal, I become your ongoing market resource — letting you know when the right next opportunity appears.

Development Opportunities
on the South Shore

The South Shore is in the middle of a generational development moment. Aging housing stock, growing demand, infrastructure improvements, and a wave of buyers priced out of Boston have created genuine opportunity for smart developers who know where to look.

I work closely with builders, developers, and land investors to identify teardown candidates, subdivide-able lots, and commercial conversion opportunities across the South Shore. I understand permitting landscapes, town-by-town zoning, and what sells in each micro-market.

If you're building spec homes, doing teardown-rebuilds, or looking at larger multi-family development plays, I'll help you source the land, understand the market, and maximize the exit.

1

Site Sourcing & Analysis

I identify teardown candidates, underutilized lots, and development-ready parcels across the South Shore through both on and off-market channels.

2

Zoning & Feasibility

I'll walk you through town-specific zoning, permitting timelines, and local planning board dynamics before you commit a dollar.

3

Market Positioning

I'll advise on product-market fit — what buyers in each town are actually paying for, and how to spec your project to maximize value.

4

Pre-Sale & List Strategy

When it's time to sell, I'll position your finished product to attract the right buyers and close at top dollar.

Luxury Living & Relocation to the South Shore

The South Shore is one of New England's best-kept secrets for luxury buyers. Waterfront estates in Cohasset and Duxbury, historic colonial manors in Hingham, and architect-designed new construction in Norwell — all within 30–45 minutes of Boston.

For clients relocating from out of state — or simply out of the city — I offer a concierge-style experience. I'll give you the real, unfiltered breakdown of each town: lifestyle, commute, schools, community feel, and long-term value. No sales pitch. Just straight talk.

My luxury clients expect discretion, market intelligence, and an advisor who can move quickly when the right property appears. That's exactly what I deliver.

1

Lifestyle Discovery

Before we look at a single listing, we get clear on your vision — waterfront or wooded, walkable village or private estate, school district priorities.

2

Curated Town Tour

I'll take you on a private tour of the towns and neighborhoods that fit your profile — including off-market properties not publicly listed.

3

Strategic Offer & Negotiation

In the luxury market, the deal structure matters as much as the price. I'll negotiate with precision to protect your interests at every turn.

4

Welcome to the Shore

I'll connect you with local contractors, designers, and community resources to help you settle in — long after the keys change hands.

Sell Smarter on the South Shore

Selling your home on the South Shore in today's market is an opportunity — if you approach it right. With inventory still historically tight and demand from Boston buyers running strong, well-prepared sellers consistently achieve over asking price.

My listing strategy combines professional photography and staging, hyper-targeted digital marketing, and a pre-market runway that builds buyer demand before we ever hit the MLS. The result: faster sales at higher prices with fewer headaches.

I also have a network of off-market buyers actively searching in every South Shore town — meaning in some cases, we can close without ever going public.

1

Pricing Strategy

A hyper-local comparative market analysis that goes beyond the algorithm — factoring in neighborhood dynamics, buyer demand, and recent off-market activity.

2

Preparation & Staging

I'll identify exactly which improvements deliver the best return, then coordinate professional photography, videography, and staging.

3

Strategic Launch

We build pre-market buzz, launch with maximum exposure, and create urgency — turning your home into the most talked-about listing on the South Shore.

4

Negotiate & Close

I'll manage every offer with sharp negotiation, keeping you fully informed and protecting your bottom line through a smooth closing.

The Difference

Why Homes by Kev?

There are a lot of real estate agents on the South Shore. Here's what makes this different.

◈

Hyper-Local Knowledge

I don't just work the South Shore — I live here. I know which streets flood in March, which neighborhoods are quietly appreciating, and which listings are overpriced before you even walk through the door. That kind of knowledge can't be Googled.

◎

Off-Market Access

Years of relationships with homeowners, attorneys, builders, and other agents have built me a pipeline of properties that never hit the MLS. My buyers regularly see opportunities that the general public simply doesn't.

◇

No Fluff. Straight Talk.

I'll tell you if a house isn't worth the asking price. I'll tell you if a neighborhood has issues you should know about. I'll tell you to wait if waiting is the smart move. You deserve honest advice, not just a closed transaction.

⊕

Full-Service Approach

From pre-approval to moving day, I'm your point person for everything. I'll connect you with the right lenders, attorneys, inspectors, contractors, and movers — people I trust because I've worked with them for years.

⊞

Sharp Negotiation

Negotiation isn't just about the number. It's about timing, positioning, contingencies, and reading the other side. I've negotiated hundreds of deals across every type of market condition. That experience is in your corner.

⊗

Clients for Life

Most of my business comes from past clients and their referrals. That only happens when people feel genuinely well-served. I stay in touch, keep you updated on your market, and am always just a call away — years after closing.

My Commitment

Not Just Words.
A Promise.

I'm early in my career and I know it. I don't have decades of closed deals to show you — yet. 03
◎

I'll Tell You When to Walk Away

If a home has problems you need to know about, you'll know. If the price is wrong, I'll say it out loud. My job is to protect your interests — not just close a deal and move on.

04

Marketing That Actually Reaches Buyers

Your listing won't just sit on the MLS. I'll build a targeted social and digital campaign — reaching the right buyers on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube where they actually spend time, not just where agents are used to posting.

Common Questions

Things People Ask Me.

Real answers to the questions I get most often. If yours isn't here — call me.

In Massachusetts, buyer's agent compensation is typically paid by the seller as part of the transaction — meaning my services cost you nothing out of pocket in most cases. Under new industry rules effective August 2024, we'll have a written buyer agency agreement that spells out exactly how I'm compensated before we start working together. There will be no surprises. I'll explain everything upfront so you have complete clarity.
From our first conversation to keys in hand, most buyers are in their home within 60–120 days. The search phase varies — some clients find their home in two weekends, others take three months. Once you're under agreement, Massachusetts closings typically run 45–60 days. The variable that matters most: being fully pre-approved before you start. Buyers who come to me pre-approved move significantly faster.
Not necessarily — it depends on your financial situation and risk tolerance. There are three main paths: sell first, then buy (less financial risk, but requires temporary housing); buy first, then sell (seamless transition, but requires bridge financing or cash reserves); or simultaneous close (coordinated closings on the same day). Each approach has tradeoffs. I'll help you think through which makes sense for your specific situation.
Pre-qualification is a rough estimate based on self-reported financial data. Pre-approval is the real thing: the lender has reviewed your actual income, assets, tax returns, and credit. In today's South Shore market, sellers and their agents do not take pre-qualified buyers seriously. Come to me pre-approved or I'll connect you with a local lender who can get you there quickly — often within 48–72 hours.
My honest answer as of early 2026: Weymouth, Pembroke, Kingston, Whitman, and Hanson offer the most buying power relative to neighboring towns. Weymouth has the best commute story of any value market on the South Shore. Pembroke punches above its price point for family living. Kingston is a quieter gem with commuter rail access. The key insight: these aren't "settling" — they're where smart buyers are finding equity before the rest of the market catches up.
Absolutely — relocation buyers are some of my favorite clients to work with. I'm set up to run full virtual consultations, video tours, and remote offer reviews so you can make confident decisions from anywhere. I'll also give you my honest take on each town's commute patterns, school systems, neighborhood feel, and quality of life — the stuff you can't get from a Zillow listing. Many of my relocation clients have closed on homes they've only seen in person once or twice.

Hingham

Upscale Harbor Town · Est. 1635

Hingham is one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts, incorporated on September 2, 1635 — the twelfth town established in the Commonwealth. Its founders were a group of Puritan settlers led by Reverend Peter Hobart, who emigrated from Hingham, Norfolk, England, and gave the town its name. Before European settlement, the area was known as Bare Cove.

The town's most iconic landmark, the Old Ship Church, was built in 1681 and stands today as the oldest continuously used church building in the United States. The structure's interior, crafted by ship's carpenters, bears a striking resemblance to an inverted ship's hull — a testament to the craftsmen who built it.

Hingham has deep Revolutionary War roots, having sent men to Lexington and Concord. In the 19th century, the landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted designed the stunning World's End peninsula, now a beloved nature preserve. Today, the Boston Harbor ferry connects Hingham to downtown Boston in 35 minutes, making it one of the most coveted commuter communities in all of New England.

Cohasset

Coastal Elegance · Est. 1770

Cohasset's name derives from the Algonquian word meaning "long rocky place" — and a glance at its dramatic coastline tells you exactly why. The town was carved from the eastern part of Hingham and incorporated as a district in 1770, achieving full town status in 1775.

The town's defining landmark is the Minot's Ledge Lighthouse, completed in 1860 after an earlier structure was swept away in a devastating 1851 storm that killed two lighthouse keepers. The current tower, rising 114 feet from a submerged rock ledge, is widely regarded as one of the greatest engineering achievements of 19th-century America. Its light flashes 1-4-3, a local shorthand for "I Love You."

Cohasset shares the magnificent Whitney and Thayer Woods — 600 acres of conservation land — with neighboring Hingham. The town has long attracted artists, writers, and old-money New England families drawn to its striking beauty and quiet, intimate scale. The Cohasset Common and the view of the harbor have changed remarkably little in 200 years.

Scituate

Harbor & Heritage · Est. 1636

Scituate takes its name from the Algonquian "Satuit," meaning "cold brook." Settled in 1628 and incorporated in 1636, it was one of the earliest European settlements in Plymouth Colony. The town's early economy centered on fishing, shipbuilding, and the harvesting of Irish moss along its rocky shores.

Perhaps no story captures Scituate's spirit better than that of Rebecca and Abigail Bates, the teenage daughters of the lighthouse keeper. During the War of 1812, the girls spotted a British warship landing troops to raid the town. Armed with only a drum and a fife, they began playing a military march — convincing the British soldiers that an army was approaching and causing them to retreat to their ship. The "Army of Two" became one of the most celebrated stories in Massachusetts history.

Today Scituate boasts the highest concentration of Irish Americans of any community in the United States, earning it the nickname "Ireland's 33rd County." Its working harbor, two historic lighthouses, and fierce community pride make it one of the most authentic and beloved towns on the South Shore.

Duxbury's story begins with two of the most famous names in American history: Myles Standish and John Alden, both Mayflower passengers who settled here after Plymouth became too crowded. The town was incorporated in 1637 and named after Duxbury, Lancashire, England.

In the 19th century, Duxbury became one of the most important shipbuilding centers in New England. The Weston family's shipyard launched dozens of vessels, and the King Caesar House — built by shipbuilding patriarch Ezra Weston II — stands today as one of the finest Federal-style homes in Massachusetts, now a museum open to the public.

Today Duxbury is perhaps best known for the Island Creek Oysters farm in Duxbury Bay, which has become one of the most celebrated oyster operations in the country, supplying top restaurants nationwide. The town's miles of protected barrier beach, exceptional school system, and understated affluence continue to attract buyers seeking the finest coastal living the South Shore has to offer.

Marshfield

Beaches & Nature · Est. 1641

Marshfield was settled in 1632 and incorporated in 1641, taking its name from the marshes and fields that defined its landscape. The town sits along the South River and features miles of barrier beach, dune systems, and the kind of coastal ecology that makes it one of the most ecologically rich towns on the Shore.

The town's most famous resident was Daniel Webster — statesman, senator, and arguably the greatest orator in American history. Webster purchased a working farm in Marshfield in 1832 and spent the last 20 years of his life here. He called it "the place I love best on earth." His estate, known as Green Harbor, became a gathering place for the political and cultural elite of the era.

The Marshfield Fair, founded in 1867, is one of the oldest continuously operating agricultural fairs in the United States and draws tens of thousands of visitors each August. Marshfield's beaches — Green Harbor, Rexhame, Fieldston, and Humarock — are among the most beloved on the entire South Shore, and the town's Mass Audubon sanctuaries protect thousands of acres of coastal habitat.

Norwell

Rural Charm, Top Schools · Est. 1849

Norwell's story is one of reinvention. Originally settled as part of Scituate in the 1630s, the southern parishes broke off to form their own town in 1849, initially named South Scituate. For nearly four decades it kept that name — until 1888, when residents voted to rename it Norwell in honor of Otis Norwell, a beloved local physician and public servant who had championed the community for decades.

The town's history is shaped by the North River, which flows along its western edge and was one of the most productive shipbuilding rivers in the colonies. Between 1640 and 1871, more than 1,000 vessels were built along the banks of the North River — a remarkable legacy that helped supply the young nation with the ships it needed to trade and grow.

The James Library, established in 1874 and still operating today, is one of the oldest libraries in southeastern Massachusetts. Norwell has deliberately maintained its rural character — strict zoning, large minimum lot sizes, and a community commitment to open space have kept it feeling like a countryside town even as surrounding communities developed. Its school system is consistently among the top-ranked in Plymouth County.

Hull

Peninsula Living · Est. 1644

Hull is one of the oldest towns in the United States, settled in 1622 — the same year as Weymouth — and incorporated in 1644. Originally known as Nantasket, the narrow glacial drumlin peninsula juts dramatically into Boston Harbor, with ocean on three sides and sweeping views of the Boston skyline.

In the late 19th century, Hull became one of New England's premier resort destinations. Paragon Park, which opened in 1905, was the crown jewel of this era — a world-class amusement park featuring the legendary Giant Coaster, one of the longest wooden roller coasters ever built. At its peak, Hull drew hundreds of thousands of summer visitors. The park closed in 1985, but its memory is woven deeply into the town's identity.

Fort Revere, built on Telegraph Hill at Hull's southernmost tip, served as a coastal defense installation from the Revolutionary War through World War II. Its panoramic views encompass all of Boston Harbor, the harbor islands, and on clear days, the skyline of the city itself. The Hull Lifesaving Museum honors the brave surfmen who rescued shipwreck survivors along this treacherous coast. Today Hull remains one of the only places in the region where genuine oceanfront living is still within reach of a middle-class buyer.

Weymouth

Value & Convenience · Est. 1635

Weymouth holds the distinction of being the second oldest English settlement in Massachusetts, settled in 1622 by a group of traders and adventurers led by Captain Robert Gorges — just two years after the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth. The town was incorporated in 1635 and named after Weymouth in Dorset, England.

Weymouth's most celebrated native is Abigail Adams (née Smith), born here in 1744 in the North Parish of Braintree (which later became part of Weymouth). Wife of the second President of the United States and mother of the sixth, Abigail Adams was one of the most intellectually formidable figures of the founding era. The house where she was born still stands as a museum on Norton Street.

In the 20th century, the Fore River Shipyard — one of the most productive shipbuilding facilities in New England — supplied both World Wars with destroyers, cruisers, and submarines. At its peak, the yard employed over 12,000 workers. The South Weymouth Naval Air Station, active from 1942 through 1997, was another defining chapter in the town's 20th-century story. Today Weymouth offers commuter rail access, a growing restaurant and arts scene, and real value for buyers who want proximity to Boston without the Boston price tag.

Hanover

Suburban Sweet Spot · Est. 1727

Hanover was incorporated in 1727, carved from portions of Scituate and Abington. Its name was chosen to honor the House of Hanover — the German royal dynasty that had recently ascended to the British throne with King George I, and whose family name carried prestige in the colonial era.

The town's early economy was dominated by iron production. The Washington Iron Works, operating from the early 1700s, was one of the most significant iron foundries in colonial New England. The ironwork it produced helped build early American infrastructure — and local legend holds that iron from Hanover's forges was used in the construction of the USS Constitution, "Old Ironsides," the celebrated warship that never lost a battle.

In the 20th century, Hanover evolved into a regional commercial hub. The Hanover Mall, opened in 1971, anchored retail development that made the town a destination for the surrounding South Shore. Today Hanover's excellent school system, central location, and wide range of housing options — from starter homes to executive estates — make it one of the most well-rounded communities on the Shore. It's the kind of town where families move in and stay for a generation.

Pembroke

Growing & Affordable · Est. 1712

Pembroke was incorporated in 1712, separated from Duxbury to form its own township and named after Pembroke, Wales. The town's earliest settlers were drawn by the productive farmland and the wealth of the North River, which flows along Pembroke's eastern edge.

Like several of its neighbors, Pembroke was deeply connected to the North River shipbuilding industry — one of the most productive in colonial America. Between the mid-1600s and the early 1800s, the North River communities launched more than 1,000 vessels, supplying the young nation with the ships it needed for trade, fishing, and warfare. Tinker's Brook, which winds through Pembroke, was another working waterway that powered early mills and industry.

For much of the 20th century, Pembroke was overshadowed by its more prominent coastal neighbors. But as South Shore prices have climbed, the town's combination of larger lots, solid schools, and Route 3 access has made it increasingly attractive to buyers who want real value without sacrificing quality of life. Today Pembroke is one of the Shore's fastest-appreciating markets — the kind of town that smart buyers get into before everyone else figures it out.

Plymouth

America's Hometown · Est. 1620

Plymouth needs no introduction — it is literally where America began. On December 21, 1620, 102 passengers aboard the Mayflower made landfall here after 66 days at sea, becoming the first permanent English settlers in New England. Their story — survival, hardship, and the first Thanksgiving shared with the Wampanoag people in 1621 — is the foundational myth of American identity.

Plymouth Rock, the legendary stone marking where the Pilgrims are said to have first stepped ashore, sits beneath a granite portico on Water Street. Plimoth Patuxent (formerly Plimoth Plantation) recreates the original settlement and the Wampanoag homesite with painstaking historical accuracy. Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the original ship, is docked in Plymouth Harbor and open for tours.

The King Philip's War (1675–1678), fought largely in and around Plymouth Colony, was the deadliest conflict per capita in American history. Plymouth's role as the political and cultural center of the colony meant it was at the heart of this brutal conflict. Today Plymouth is the largest town by land area in Massachusetts — a sprawling, diverse community that ranges from historic waterfront to rural inland villages to new construction neighborhoods along Route 3. Its real estate market is one of the most dynamic and varied on the entire South Shore.

Kingston

Coastal & Charming · Est. 1726

Kingston was incorporated in 1726, carved from the western portion of Plymouth. Its name is thought to honor Kingston upon Thames, England, though some historians suggest a connection to the Jamaican port city. The town grew up around the Jones River, a productive herring run that drew early settlers and sustained a thriving fishing and mill economy.

Kingston's most significant historical chapter came during its shipbuilding era. The Jones River provided an ideal launching site for vessels, and Kingston-built ships sailed trade routes across the Atlantic and Pacific throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. The Drew Shipyard was among the most productive on the South Shore, and several families — the Drews, the Joneses, the Brewsters — built substantial fortunes in the maritime trade.

Silver Lake, at the heart of Kingston, is a glacially formed kettle pond that serves as the town's freshwater reservoir and one of its most beloved recreational resources. The lake and the surrounding conservation land give Kingston an unexpected natural beauty for a town its size. The Kingston commuter rail station, shared with Plymouth, provides direct service to South Station — making Kingston increasingly attractive to Boston-area buyers seeking coastal character at accessible prices.

Whitman

Local Character & Value · Est. 1875

Whitman was incorporated in 1875, separated from the town of Abington and named after Augustus Whitman, a local merchant and civic leader who donated generously to the new town's early infrastructure. Before separation, the area was known as South Abington, and its early economy was rooted in the shoe manufacturing industry that defined southeastern Massachusetts in the 19th century.

But Whitman's most delicious claim to fame belongs to Ruth Graves Wakefield, proprietor of the Toll House Inn on Route 18. In 1930, while baking cookies, she cut up a Nestlé chocolate bar and added the pieces to her butter drop dough — expecting them to melt fully. They didn't. What emerged from the oven was the world's first chocolate chip cookie. Wakefield shared the recipe with Nestlé, who in exchange gave her a lifetime supply of chocolate. Her recipe, slightly modified, still appears on every bag of Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips today. The original inn burned down in 1984, but a historical marker stands at the site.

Whitman's commuter rail station on the Middleborough/Lakeville line provides direct service to South Station, making it an increasingly practical choice for Boston commuters seeking affordability. The town's strong working-class identity, active community organizations, and real value per square foot make it one of the most underappreciated buying opportunities on the South Shore.

Hanson

Cranberry Country Charm · Est. 1820

Hanson was incorporated in 1820, separated from Pembroke and named after Alexander Contee Hanson, a prominent Maryland politician and newspaper editor who gained national recognition for his staunch opposition to the War of 1812 and his defense of press freedom under threat of mob violence. The naming honored a man of principle at a time when principle was costly.

Hanson's defining landscape feature is its cranberry bogs. The town sits within Plymouth County's cranberry belt — one of the most productive cranberry-growing regions in the world — and the low-lying, glacially formed terrain that makes the land challenging for conventional farming makes it perfect for cranberry cultivation. Each October, the bogs flood with water and turn a stunning, vivid red as the ripe cranberries float to the surface for harvest. It's one of the most spectacular agricultural sights in New England.

Camp Kiwanee, a beloved multi-generational summer camp and retreat center on Maquan Pond, has been part of Hanson's community fabric since the 1920s. The town's relatively small size — just over 10,000 residents — and its commitment to preserving open space and rural character have kept it feeling genuinely unhurried in a region that's increasingly busy. For buyers seeking large lots, quiet streets, and a true small-town experience within range of Boston, Hanson is one of the South Shore's last best-kept secrets.

Quincy

City of Presidents · Est. 1792

Quincy holds a title no other American city can claim: birthplace of two Presidents of the United States. John Adams, the second President, was born here on October 30, 1735, in a modest farmhouse on what is now Adams Street. His son, John Quincy Adams, the sixth President, was born in the house next door on July 11, 1767. Both homes still stand and are open to the public as part of Adams National Historical Park — the only site in the National Park system dedicated to the legacy of a single American family across multiple generations.

Quincy's history stretches back to 1625, when it was settled by Captain Myles Standish and a small group from Plymouth Colony — the same Myles Standish who also founded Duxbury. The area was originally part of the town of Braintree and was incorporated as its own city in 1792, named in honor of Colonel John Quincy, great-grandfather of Abigail Adams. When it became a city in 1888, it was the first city in Massachusetts to be incorporated under the new city charter laws.

The Fore River Shipyard, straddling the Quincy-Weymouth line, was one of the most productive shipbuilding facilities in American history. During World War II, it launched destroyers, cruisers, and even aircraft carriers at a pace that astonished the world. The shipyard's legacy is woven into the identity of every working-class neighborhood in Quincy. Today, the city is one of the most dynamic real estate markets on the South Shore — fueled by Red Line subway access to downtown Boston, a booming food scene driven by one of the largest Asian-American communities in New England, and a wave of young professionals and families discovering genuine value just 8 miles from Boston's financial district.
